Licensed Therapist & Mental Health Counselor

Providing Telehealth Therapy for California, Oregon & New York

I get to have the unique experience of working with individuals all over the country while being physically located in Central Oregon, in Sisters. I have had a wide range of experiences leading up to this point in my career and it has been an amazing journey and I have learned so much. I will continue to be available to my normal network through Headway, and I am looking to increase my engagement and invest deeper in the community where my family and I get to call home.

Great to meet you!

I am a fun and down-to-earth person. When not working, you will find me outdoors enjoying the mountains and the water, and enjoying deep conversations around campfires. I am trying to get the most out of life, and I get a lot out of the opportunity to share in the experiences of the individuals I work with. I work with both children and adults. I have developed some revolutionary approaches to working with youth, especially with the increase in remote learning and therapy.

My approach to therapy

I am intrigued by the stories that we are immersed in. Sorting through the stories to make sense of them, reviewing the stories of our past, and identifying if the stories we are trying to write about our futures are desirable and functional. I have an approach that melds aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, and experiential/play Therapy. I am very adaptable to what comes up and listen to where the wind should take us, rather than where different theories should take us.

What you can expect from me

I am not interested in just being a soundboard for you. At a minimum, I will be a journal that talks back, and you will find that our time together is a two-way street where we are trying to understand the material we are processing. You can trust that I will be engaged with you. If therapy ever feels dull, it means we are missing each other and failing to have a meaningful conversation.

Teletherapy/Remote Therapy vs. Face-to-Face Therapy

I began doing remote therapy in 2018. I went into it on the cynical side about the quality of the connection that clients would feel like they could establish and found myself quickly shocked by how well we were able to build a strong connection. Actually, what transpired was not expected. Many clients have opened up about how they prefer the comfort of their own space and the convenience of not needing to take the time to travel to an office to meet me. Often people will step out into their cars during normal work hours, or log in while taking a break while working remotely themselves.

In the end, all that matters is what you are most comfortable with. There are times that there is not someone local who is available and reaching out remotely to a therapist is the best logistical option for you. There have been many referrals where I find success with someone and they recommend me to a friend or acquaintance in a different city or even state.

At the moment, I do not see anyone face-to-face and do not have an office available to the public.
